Junk Drawers
(my parents’ junk drawer and a growing collection)

I’m fascinated by the accidental nature of the collection that happens within the confines of the junk drawer - as well as the migratory habits of the objects that lie within just waiting to be used.

Tthe most recent iteration of this junk drawer is part of A place for everything on view at Miami International Airport, North Terminal near Gates 29/30. The original drawer is shown alongside a red-flocked recreated version of my parents’ junk drawer.

In the neighboring vitrine is a new found object installation with lamps, sewn fabric, furniture bits, and other objects collected and altered for various projects over the years.

Please click on the link above and share your pictures and memroies of your own junk drawers for research I am doing.
